For a more formal look wear the Argyll with a waistcoat, and bow tie, change to a basic dress shirt and regular tie to go down a notch, without the waistcoat to go down still another notch. A dress sporran for the more formal, plain sporran for a more casual look. The argyll is the most versatile jacket you can wear.

I agree with Bubba's analysis, the black Argyle Jacket is the most versatile jacket. You can dress it down by using a plain black sporran and a kilt tie to match your flashes. If the event is more formal, dress it up with a black silk tie or a formal pleated shirt with a black bowtie.

I personally own a black Argyle with the silver buttons, I love it. My black sporran has a small amount of silver on it, but is rather plain and looks good with day wear, you can also dress the Argyle down by using a leather sporran strap instead of the chain. Black wing tips will complete the look for either occaision.

You have made a great choice! You will enjoy it!

Bryan, of course pics, just as soon as it makes its way across the pond! Since the auction ended this weekend, I expect to hear about shipping tomorrow. It is supposed to go out airmail, so I would expect to see it in a few weeks.

Thanks to all for the advice. Glad to know that this one jacket can serve my multitude of needs.
