    Hey welcome aboard.

Go for the Robertson Htg modern colors pleated to the red stripe.

    You'll never regret it.

I'm working on getting one myself asap. (my wife is a Robertson)

Be sure to let us know what you decided, and post a pic when you get it.

ALSO, I'm interested in competing in Highland games myself, so let us know how it goes. Maybe we should talk about training!

I'll echo the welcomes, and also the desire to get training for the highland games. When I approached one of the caber tossers at the Chicago Celtic festival this summer (as he was strapping the caber to the top of a VW Passat!) and asked where one trained, he responded "your local park!" and then confirmed my comment that "you just find a downed tree and start tossing it?"! There has to be more to training than that!

And my advice would be to keep your feet off the furniture here, some people are really uptight about it! Other than that, sit back and relax.

    Welcome CaberDave,

    'tis a great board.

Think I got real drunk once in Atlanta in the early 70s...don't remember for sure so I probably did....:-)

Thanks to all for the kind welcome.

Prester John, There are several websites to check-out concerning Highland Games. Try; www.highlandgames.net/masa/ or www.thessaaa.org . Both of these sites have great information about getting started in the games.

Welcome! I've never been to the Highland Games, but every post that mentions them makes me want to go even more than the last post.

Good luck with your training and keep us posted as to how you do.
