Excellent! I love when the original twill fabrics wear in... they get almost fuzzy! I traded my corduroy Utilikilt for a Standard Original. (The Standards are the ones with a zip-fly closure, like jeans.) It has that ultra-soft feel they get after a few years of good hard wear...

The Original's fabric has always been a Polyester/Cotton twill weave of a particular weight. So no, the fabric hasn't been changed to something significantly different. (The same fabric from two different mills will differ slightly, but not enough to be readily apparent to the untrained eye.)

My guess is the difference is probably mostly due to perception and rapidly fading memory cells! :-)

People commonly ask for used kilts, or for us to make ones from a "broken in" denim or twill... everyone likes that soft feel! Maybe that is why the aftermarket in UKs is so robust...?

Mmmm.... sooooft...
