Yes, well said indeed. Always glad to hear people enjoying the finer things in life. If only more people knew what we know.

I remember hearing somewhere that Kentucky bourbon is the official spirit of the USA, but I might be mistaken. Never tried it, but I'm certainly willing ;)
I've saved up my pennies, and within the next few days am going to buy myself a bottle of single malt. One of the party stores (liquor stores, for those outside the Midwest) downtown sells scotch in regular size bottles and smaller bottles. I'll probably only be able to afford a small bottle, but I'd rather have a small bottle than none at all.
That bottle will sit on the counter, untouched and unopened, until 5:15pm this Tuesday. I turn in the last paper due this semester on Tuesday at 4, I get off work at 5, and it takes me 15 minutes to get home. Then it's time to celebrate with a wee dram.
My Lady doesn't particularly like scotch, but she's only tried a sip of the Dewars White Label she got me last Valentine's Day. I like Dewars, but it's not a single, so we'll see how she likes the single.

Andrew.
Apparently my wife has just added a bottle of the McClelland's Highland malt to our collection. She wants to make hot toddies but didn't want to use my good whisky
So that makes the new year collection:
Dalmore 12 year single malt
McClelland's Highalnd malt
Drambuie
Glenfiddich 12 year
and two mystery bottle coming from Alberta. I am hoping for either Oban, Highland Park, Dalwhinnie, Ardbeg, or Macallan. i won't know which two my "bootlegger" picked up on her first until after the new year.
