Ian, please, give me some warning! Although, I had the same chance to misinterpret the spacing as you. Maybe you are just more literal or twisted than I am??

Boy, now I'm really jonesing. I have 3 on order - tan, denim, and corduroy, and they are supposed to ship this week. Even fireproof? Not that I plan on trying to burn myself up.

My two Schmipps (sorry! changed the chip) my two kilts are Amerikilt. I was happy with them until I started to read in forums how bad they can look in only one year's time (stiffness, bullet proof wrinkles, color fades...).

It's from november that I purchased them. I could not wear them as often as I liked, so I haven't washed them. I'm sure that this is the way to make them to stay with this beautiful shape they are from the factory.

Got 2 of the 3 Amerikilts I ordered (TanAK & CordAK). Should get the denim by the end of the week. These are my first modern style kilts, and I must say I'm impressed. Love the style. Tried both with and without hose and flashes. They look equally well dressed up or down. Decided to go sans kilt pin. The apron is a bit narrow for that, but I looks fine dressed up without the pin.

I've heard the pros and cons, so I'll see what they are like 6 months from now. Currently, I like them a lot, and feel they are well worth the money. I get the impression that these kilts can take a beating and still come out looking good after they are cleaned. As Iolaus said in another thread, you can give a nod to tradition by dressing them up, but they are still a modern style. I like that, and I'm glad I've added them to my collection.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but... you GOTTA LOVE the Teflon Coating! That may be a new "sales pitch" for 20 somethings... "You like Gwar? Well this kilt will repel stains form their fake blood!" HAHAHAHA

I ordered an amerkilt a couple of years ago, and I wasnt really happy with it. Not that there was anything wrong with it, just not my style. The kilt arrived promptly and as described on the website, but after trying it on, I decided I prefered heavier material, and sewn pleats. I called Amerikilts, my kilt was returned and I had a refund. If I wanted a light weight kilt for around the house, I would not hesitate to order from Amerikilt again.

I have 2 AK's. One in black and the other in putty. I can't say enough about them. They're my most prized garments in my wardrobe (admittedly, I don't have a "tank" yet). The putty is of a slightly heavier material than the black - almost like those old green canvas schoolbags. They do take a little bit to break in but they are very comfortable right out of the box.
