    Being the impatient S.O.B. that i am i plunged ahead without buying the book - should i kick myself in the butt now - or wait until i get the kilt done....???

    Its not looking bad but lets just say it woudl not be my submission to Kilt Makers Hall of Fame selection committee by any stretch of the imagination.....

    I've made two kilts so far,one a solid color twill and the other in tartan. The tartan was ten times more aggravating than the solid.

    I have done several solid Utilikilt styled ones - they havent taken even 1/4 of the time that this beast has ...

    I thought that using the tartan stripes would make it easier to do the pleats but NOOOOOOO they have to be lined up just right or the whole thing looks wonky. And as for hand stitching:

    I have learned my lesson very very well and have the deepest respect for (and a bit of fear of) those who do this madness full time!!!

    Not gonna let it stop me from doing it again tho - yes i am that much of a masochist
