    Four inches is rather less difference than most men have - I think the standard measurements differ by eight inches but it is a long time since I bought a commercial pattern.

    - Just checked - waist is eight inches smaller than chest size and seven inches smaller than hip measurement in the standard charts for men.

    Well, that ain't me, my waiste is only 2 inches smaller than the hip. I'm built like a barrel.

    Is that the standard for pant waist or kilt waist?
