Off route I know-but there is also some fantstic scenery in northern Sweden-The Kungsleden-I walked that in the 60's.
There is also some superb walking in the Jotenheim-Norway 60's and 70's.
Kilted-but that leads to one bit of heartfelt advice--when not to wear the kilt: if doing a standing glissade-do not sit down-for if you do there is a deep and heartfelt longing for trousers-thick trousers!
