    A must for any Kiltie.

    If your like me and like the free feeling of a kilt (well I'm assuming your like me) then you have to do two things in your kilt;

    1) Walk the West Highland Way. Will take you around 7 days at a nice pace.

    2) Go hillwalking in Scotland/Climb a mountain. Especially Ben Nevis.

    Looking all around at the beauty of Scotland, in Scottish attire is a must, it makes the hair on your neck stand on end.

    I'm sure that someday I'll hike the WHW. It'll be a nice easy walk for me. ;)

    Andrew.
    Goes for anyone on here, I do it every year so if they want to meet up and hike with my party then feel free to contact.

    It really is a nice thing to do, but I would recommend you do it all by yourself, I try to and it really is a good way to clear your head and get your mind in the right place.

    When I was last across (early January), a pal from the Dunblane area and I were planning to drive up to Loch Katrine for a walk. Unfortunately, he had a sick daughter that needed attention, so the trip was postponed.

    I stay just east of Stirling when I am there and Dumyat has been trying to get my attention, too.

    Kelly and I didn't do too much hiking (does walking through Stirling, Calendar and Aberfoyle count?) while in Scotland, but I can tell you this...

    There's a road between Aberfoyle and Calendar. Not hard to find, considering it's the ONLY road. It is a windy road and goes over a mountain, through a valley (with NOTHING in it but fields) and over another mountain. Along that road, there are no people, VERY few cars (1 passes every 10 min or so) and just open country. Along side of the road, there's a little parking lot with a couple picinic tables and a gravel parking lot. You can't miss it.

    You want your hair to stand on end? Hit that place right before sundown and watch the sun set over the mountain with the woman you love while wearing a kilt. The silence and beauty and smell of clean air are more memorable than anything else on our whole trip to Scotland.

    The closest to Scotland in aesthetic beauty I have seen is Montana and the Rockies, so go there and hae a wee gander.

    Used to live in the USA and it has made me appreciate Alba so much more.
