It's rained almost 2 inches here in southcentral Montana in the past 24 hours, so it's excellent weather for wearing a kilt. Dressed in the 4-yard Red Robertson today, although one of my tanks would probably have been appropriate.
Good on all of you for wearing the tartan today -- however, whenever and wherever you've managed to do so.

I decided I pay our college president a visit today to tell him about tartan day and show him my new Isle of Skye tank. Now I've been know to drop in and chew the fat with him now and then since he's a very interesting and funny guy. His secretary LOVED my kilt, he gave me the the usual ribbing (I get that from him when I'm in pants too). All in all a very nice chat and as I left he said "that's a fine kilt... hey, that's something I don't get to say every day!" I said "drop by my classroom anytime you want to pay me the compliment." He smiled and said "you really do have to be a man to wear that huh?" I smiled and said "a man and a half" nodded and walked away.
Happy Tartan Day everyone!

I flew from Eugene to Columbus, Ohio today and I was surrounded by middle schoolers on their way to Washington DC. As we were leaving, on young man asked me if I was from Scotland. I told him I was from Oregon, but I wore kilts everyday. (I was wearing my Canadian Casual Nova Scotia tartan). He then asked me if he could take my picture. His seat mate noticed the activity and asked me if I was from Scotland, to which I replied no and this lad asked to take my picture too. I informed several of them that this was National Tartan Day and they reponded with blank looks so I grabbed the apron of my kilt and explained what tartan was.
On the way out of the jetway, I heard one say he was going to get a kilt, to which a friend questioned him, and he replied, yes, he was going to get a kilt.
I think I have steered a youth onto the path of kiltdom.

I wore my Hay ancient today with a grey shirt and tie and got compliments on the look, and questions on why (I normally wear a suit). One guy I see occassionally that is REAL impressed with the fact that I bicycle to work did a double take and said, "Wow, you look sharp, whats the occasion?" I explained tartan day to him an he said, "Cool". The only other comment was, "did you ride your bike in that?". Other than that, it was a non-event really. One woman who is a senior level supervisor who I thought would frown upon it actually said that she was glad to see someone observing tartan day when I explained it to her.

Same here. I wore my BlackWatch SWK to work today.
Had to educate lots of people about Tartan Day, and had to explain to almost as many what a Tartan WAS.
One of the guys I work with actually tried to reach up underneath. I started to react and he ran. (Not as dumb as he at first appeared)
The ladies liked it though. I got a big smile from a good looking blond that I’ve never seen before.
