If you are looking for the overt attention, take a few laps around the mall between 5 and 7 on a friday night, when all the teenagers are there.

another good venue for comments is a packed movie theater, around 6-9pm on friday and saturday nights.

When going kilted during hours when most kids are in school, the kilt is almost a non-event. You may get an inquiring soul every now and again, but nothing like when you get groups of kids trying to impress themselves.

Nice job. It gets easier with time, and soon you'll realize that everyone recognizes a kilt for what it is, and no body cares. My first kilted (day time) outing I went to the hardware store. I figured I might get a comment or two there, but nothing.

Good on ya Rusty - that first adventure is one you'll always remember. It is a real moment of liberation when we realize that (a) most folks could care less that we wear a kilt or (b) they actually get a kick out of seeing a kilted gent.

Congratulations, Rusty. Stepping out kilted always seems to be a daunting project the first time but once the fear has been tackled its a non event.
