Hmmm.
In all honesty, I should be thankfull for the seersucker nightmare. It kept me away from the night terrors I still have where I relive my experiences on 9-11 or worse.

Being a boston swamp-yankee myself, I find that most things people here in the south wear would be hellish in a kilt.

Yeah seersucker wouldn't be the worst. I was anticipating something like a see-through kilt or one of those dreams where it keeps falling off in public or something like that.

I now have the mental image of all the leperchuans from "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" dressed in kilts while rummaging through closets, chests, and wardrobes ...
"Solid shirts, not patterns!"
"Is that tartan or a picnic cloth!?"
"Have ya got no good shoes?!"
"He's got no charcoal hose!"

I don't know, some of the materials out there make for some mind boggling possibilities for kilts. Actually, a seersucker kilt on a hot, humid day doesn't sound too bad... expecially after a few gin & tonics on the veranda!

Now, now, if you're going to wear a Southern material meant for a Southern Gentlman then you must drink a Southern gentleman's drink. Let's relax on the veranda with mint julips!

I can only imagine what it must have been like, and the sacrifices you and hundreds of others made in trying so save people. I think about it everyday. Well will never forget.
