I guess the truth hurts, Bob. The ones I've seen were pretty embarrassing looking. People still seem to buy em, though.

The kilt does not make the man. No, the man makes the kilt, no matter what brand it is. If the SportKilt looks 'embarrassing' on anyone I'm guessing it's not the kilts' fault.

Good point Chris,
A mind boggling thought though - my most obese corpulence has embarrassed EIGHT different kiltmaker's products....

Can't say I agree with that in the least, mate. I have kilts that don't look nearly as nice as the others I own. The cut is different, the material is lighter, and the fit is different. The man does make the kilt...true, but if the kilt is not up to the measure of the man.......

Well I broke down and ordered it. I'll show it to the folks in my pipe band and let them decide on wheather it will pass or not. Comparing a picture to one of the kilts did help me to deciced to at least order it and give it a try. I figure it this way, best case: it will work as a viable substitute until I get the tank. Worst case, I have another kilt to "get dirty" in.
Ron, believe me if I could have all three of those kilts I would.
KT I liked your analagy about a sport kilt being like jeans. That would make my Stillwaters more like dockers and my tanks in the suit/tux category.
Chris, Colin - I'll still do my best to make it look good!
No matter what. You can't have too many kilts.

Personally I love my SportKilt, it works very nicely for what I bought it for, which was my medieval combat group. When I get a nicer kilt, I won't wear it if I know I'll be rolling around in the mud, that's what the SK is for.
