Great pictures!
Forgive my complete ignorance and don't be offended, but is Jedburgh Abbey a.....well, what is it, anyway? Okay....I looked on the web and it said it's a very old church in a state of disrepair.....but why is there no roof on that structure? I'm still confused.....that part of the structure looks like a grand outdoor hallway of sorts.
Anyway, looking at your pictures made my head hurt because I always wish those buildings could speak. The stories they could tell! When I am in the presence of those buildings I always wonder who at some point in history might have been standing in the same spot I am occupying and what happened there.
Here in Phoenix everything sprang into being after the 1950's (when the goverment said central air could be included in the mortgage for a home ) so we have almost NO historic buildings here.
I really must get over to Europe one of these days... I have relatives in Sweden and the farm where my dad grew up is still in the family
OH! I almost forget....the Selkirk Sheriff Court House was breathtaking. WOW!!!
