Help with color coordination

I think a light or sky blue shirt would look great with lovat blue hose. I can see that it will be difficult to match that tartan though. Also a more casual belt and sporran, depending on the venue, but definitely at the games.

Thanks to all who have chimed in. I've thought about the brown belt/sporran combo and might put that together for the games. (I know the sporran I've got is too dressy, but it's the only one I've got so far -- let the collection begin. Robin-I'll look for a wee bit larger one). I've also picked up some lovat blue and lovat green hose, but won't be wearing them until cooler weather sets in (wool).

I tried it with a light blue polo shirt that seemed to work, but a medium blue t-shirt (that matched the blue stripe) just seemed off.

What are the actual colors?
On my monitor, it looks light olive with light blue, bright red, and yellow. Yet, others see the red as either ancient (red-orange) or burgundy.
It makes a BIG differnce as to our advise. Monitor setting alter colors dramatically, which is also why samples/swatches are good idea for color selections and kilt material purchases.

I'd try hose that match the blue with a shirt and flashes that match the red or yellow stripes.

The green would be too much.

Also, I am more open on mixing colors, as long as they are corresponding to the kilt. A Black Watch works well with colors, like red or yellow.

I actually like matching shirts and flashes to minor/stripe colors and hose to main colors. This allows bright shirts (like solid T-shirts) without bright hose (which I generally don't like) without looking odd.

I match shirts with hose ONLY with basic colors (black, navy, white- coat & tie-, or a tan).

I would describe the green as muted kelly green. It's brighter than olive. The blue is a medium blue. The red might have a touch of orange in it, but its mostly bright red, and the yellow is a standard yellow.

Sounds like "standard" ancient colors. Then, lovat blue hose and red to red orange or yellow flashes.

My color choices:

Tan shirt with oatmeal hose and red flashes.

Light blue shirt with lovat blue hose and the matching tartan flashes you have on in the picture.
