MacKenzie or McKenzie is Scottish not Irish. There is a rumour that the name started from Irish kings, but that has been proven incorrect.
Modern Tartan
The Seaforth Highlanders also wear the MacKenzie tartan.
Glad to hear the party was good. Were you suprised to see others in kilts? In my experience people sometimes say they will wear their kilts, but few do. I can't remember the last time I stayed up till sunrise (on purpose...my daughter makes sure I do from time to time anyway )
