This is sounding good!! In Baltimore, I'll be staying in the vicinity of the Baltimore Convention Center.

Can some of the Baltimore / Washington, DC guys recommend a spot and time?

Here's what the plans are looking like:

Sun, Aug. 13 -- arrive at either Wash. DCA or BMI around 6:00 PM (I'm flexible: could do either, but if I fly into DCA, then I'll probably need suggestions about transportation from DC to Baltimore Convention Center area. If this were to be a gathering on Sunday in DC, I'd need some place to stash my luggage.)

Mon, Aug 14 -- giving a presentation at Baltimore Convention Center until, around 6:00 PM, so could meet around 7:00 or 7:30 PM in Baltimore.

Tue, Aug 15 -- have commitments

Wed, Aug 16 -- presenting until lunch time; could travel to DC for Wed. evening or do Baltimore Wed. evening.

Thurs, Aug 17 -- open, either city

Fri, Aug 18 -- returning to Dallas

Hope to meet up with the fine kilties in Baltimore and / or Washington, DC!!

I'm easy those days (quiet, Randy), and although I know a LOT of stuff around here to do, I defer to those who've lived here longer.

Stuff still on my to see list:

-- the Botanical Gardens off Randolf and KempMill (not the national ones)
-- the aquarium on Baltimore's inner harbor.

In D.C., there's always the National Mall with the Smithsonians and monuments, etc.


The only pub I know so far in McGinty's in SilverSprings unless you count coffee houses where the college bohemians hang.

Just lemme know plans, gents, an' I think I can make it.
