Hey Neo,

Ya Tey, Dine' in Arkansas? Cool.

Last year I stopped at Cameron Trading Post (Being of Cameron Clan descent seemed logical to stop there). A Navajo guy came out as I was going in, saw my kilt and stopped to talk. He said he was 1/4 Scottish and his wife had just seen a guy kilted in Flagstaff the week before and came home and told him she'd seen one of his Scottish cousin brothers...He asked if I was from Flagstaff. Told him I was from Page and he had to think that through.

Anyway, he resolved that he was gonna buy a kilt to honor his Scottish heritage. Sorry, forgot his Scottish Clan.

So much in common between Navajo people and Scottish people. Both have clan systems. Both were conquered and not allowed to speak their language, wear their traditional dress, or follow their traditional spiritual ways. The Navajos were rounded up and sent on the Long Walk, the Scots were rounded up an shipped overseas. The Navajo people did eventually get to return to their homeland. And both peoples have stuggled with booze.
