What? How about leather kilts with the Harley Tartan as a shoulder plaid?

How about Harley Tartan hose? eh? ever think of that?

    Could be mighty cool.

Thoughts of a Do-Dah parade....do they still have Do-Dah parades? A Utilikileted drill team of some sort....maybe snapping and unsnapping in unison within the limits of good taste....

Why, we have a Doo-dah Parade here in Columbus... that might be a fun thing to try. Something in the vein of the Lawn Rangers Precision Lawn Mower Drill Team might be just the thing.

Oh yahh!... But do you think Robert Pell or any of the other good leather kilt makers could be arm-twisted into outfitting an entire pipe band?

Well I shouldn't have been surprised that a pipe band somewhere had not tried the modern variant kilts. As a soft traditionalist, I think they'd look cool, but they would no doubt raise an eyebrow or two from the strict traditionalsts. I prefer to think of the idea as pushing the envelope a bit.

I think it's great that a pipe and drum band would elect to wear non-traditional kilts. But I'm neither a complete traditionalist or non-traditionalist since I wear both.

If you're going to have non-traditional kilts on your pipers, then they really should be playing pipes from here:
