    Pipeband with contemporary kilts?

Blu got me thinking: Would it be cool to see a pipe band wearing contemporary kilts?I would love to see it, even just for one parade.

I will even push the envelope further, I want to see a pipeband wearing leather kilts and sponsored by Harley-Davidson!!!

does that mean the female pipers and drummers need to wear the leather mini-kilts?

    Hi,

You're quite right, they did, and in addition to playing quite well, they looked good, also.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

Wjile I didn't make it to Dublin this year, I think it may have been the Cincinnati Police band. They were talking to us at the UK booth in both Dayton and Dublin last year about UK's. Of course the Columbus band could have done the same thing.

Adam, you might be correct on that, I do not recall the band. They were great though and actually had a piper from Notre Dame sit in with them. They let him play the Irish fight song then broke into a rendition of the Ohio State fight song. They were a lot of fun, whoever they were. I think I may have killed too many brain cells that weekend to remember much of anything. Other than the fact that I had a great time.

While I'm sure the some kilt snobs would have something to say about it, as long as the whole band has on the same outfit, it will look sharp.

Sounds interesting, but Harley Davidson has it's own tartan, #5816 at the Scottish Tartans Authority.

I'm not sure either. We talked to the Cincinnati band last year at Dayton, and we sold several to a pipe band (that was made of police and firepersons) last year at Dublin, but I'm not sure who they were.
