Ditto the joys of flying in a USAK Casual. The Perma-Pleat and the velcro and the sporran mean that I just unstrap my sporran at security and hand it over, a quick sweep when I take my seat and a bit of rump shake when I stand up. Far easier than the hassle of pants, and, of course, also vastly more comfortable.

Travel is very easy in kilts and much more confortable. I usually travel w/ a couple kilts and a pair of board shorts. The kilts are for wearing and the boardshorts are for swimming, sports, and runs to the ice machine. I have only had a few metal detectors go off because of buckles. If they do then it's good to have practiced the security gymnastics that you have to go through to get thoroughly wanded down. If I don't want the hassle I wear my travel kilts that are sans buckle. I did get caught by security on the way back, as I had a sweater on and couldn't see that I had left my belt on. After that it was smooth sailing.
