Comments while Kilted
Last evening I wore my black UK Survival, black hose, and a red knit shirt, short sleeved. We went to see "Scrooge," an annual play at our local college. First, while I was walking in the mall with my wife, a mid aged couple were walking toward us. I don't know if he was asking me or telling his lady, but all I heard as he passed was, "Regimental."
Then, while going into Pizza Hut, I passed a table of a group of teens at one end of a long table and adults at the other. The two younger teens looked at me, laughed, talked to each other and were still laughing when we sat down near them at another table. I started laughing too and just put my head down. I would have gone over and talked to them, but I didn't, probably because the adults were there, although they didn't hear the kids laugh. If they did, they probably didn't know what they were laughing at as they didn't see me.
No one says anything at the theater, since it is a college theater and one see all sorts of dress there. I am wearing the same things tonight for a H.S. play, but again, usually no comments.
DALE.
You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

I find teenagers alone don't usually make any comments at all. But when two or more are together, they just gotta impress and entertain each other with you as the latest target. I tend to brush it off as a lack of life experience, heavy social conditioning, and raging hormones.
Once in a while, though, they can surprise you. On a couple of occasions I've had the "thumbs up" and "cooool dude" approvals from groups of teens.
Kilts can still be a krapshoot.
