Absolutely Chris. I'm pretty sure most of us have never been to a Burns Supper.
Jim, for pipers you might check with the Atholl Highlanders in Stone Mountain.

Well thats nice, I would enjoy meeting up with some X-markers. As, we don't have much kilt wearing here in Georgia that I've seen so far

For about a year there were only a handful of us in GA, but recently there has been a huge influx of new members from GA. We will hopefully be able to begin some regular kilt nights at some of the many Celtic and Irish pubs here.

There is an okay pub in Marietta called McCrackin's, if anyone may be interested in doing a night out on my side of town afterwards..

Clan Gregor bringing up the rear...
Hey dudes,
Just thought I'd pipe in to say I am monitoring the situation, and if it occurs that there is need for another smelly scotchman for the Burns Supper...uh, or whatever... Conyers may very well be within reach. January is still a bit off the radar yet, as I am still trying to deal with Christmas, but simply being on a Saturday will do for me.
I also know of several of our Clan Gregor members (some Great Kilt wearin' dudes, too!) in the area that might also be interested...I dont know if they are X-marks members, but would they be welcome? Or could I bring them as guests in the event I am able to make it? I promise we wont steal your sheep... (your whusky on the other hand I cant make any promises for).
Anyway... that is all. Thanks.
Here's tae us, Whas like us... Deil the Yin!

Bring 'em on
You and all the Gregors are welcome. (We'll lock up the sheep, cattle, and dogs). Bring your women, too. I'm beginning to think this is gonna be a really good supper. We'll be passing out tasks later.
When January gets here, we'll start to get real reservations so the pub can plan the food and tables. I really hope you can make it. We'll be just off I-20, so it'll be easy to find, and I do recommed either a motel or a designated driver.
"This could be the start of something beautiful." (Bogey in Casablanca)
BTW, kilts aren't actually required, but we'll dog anyone in pants! And if you like to dress up, do so.
The fair will be standard: cock-a-leekie soup, haggis, neaps and tatties, bannocks, sherry trifle. There'll be a bit of the aqua vitae for toasts and such too, as well as the bar from which you can get anything you're big enough to handle.
The posts will keep comin', an' a' that, an' a' that. int:

How about an alternative entree for those of us who are vegetarian, and a dessert for those who do not take alcohol?

I've been to a few Burns Suppers, but it's been several years since my last. They can be lots of fun, but the people make the event. With this group, I'm sure there won't a problem having a good time.

Making things definite
OK, I just left the Tavern, and we are set for the 27th, not the 20th of January. There were a couple of things that would have conflicted, so I opted for the 27th when we can own the pub.
It's good to be the king!
Anyway, please mark your calendars now. We will be requiring an advance reservation so Holly, the owner, can plan the meal with the most reasonable cost. (Hey, I am Scottish, you know. We don't waste money on things like food. Kilts and accoutrements maybe, but not food!)
If you have any ideas that you want us to consider, bring 'em on. I'll keep you posted on final details as they are developed.
I will soon post the first draft of the agenda for the evening, and I'll be looking for folks to do toasts, read/recite poems, etc.
We'll also be looking for appropriate entertainment after the dinner.
That's enough for now.
Slainte!
