OK, that's it! I've had enough. I give up.

In the interest of brotherliness, fair play, righteous ferver, a love for things kilted, good poetry, lively repartee, and the American way, we have definitely and permamently changed the date for the Conyers Burns Night Supper to January 20, 2007. I went to the pub last night and talked to the owner. She was happy to change it for us.

Not one of you guys found the 20th to be a problem, but several couldn't make the 27th. Heck, the whole reason for doing it is to have fun and get of lot of Scots (and other riff-raff) together while toasting the immortal memory. I look forward to meeting all of you gentlemen and your ladies. Bring wives or girlfriends, but not both. (We don't want any trouble!)

It may have been that story about SouthernScot's daughter's birthday that really did the 27th in. Had me crying and wiping my nose thinking about that poor little girl needing her daddy.

Anyway, in all seriousness, the 20th is on! Let me hear from you. After the first, we will nail down the details and costs for dinner. It will be reasonable, I promise. I also promised Holly, the owner, that I would assist in making the haggis, so this will be a real labor of love. Tomorrow I go to the meat market to get a couple of sheep's stomachs; one for the dry run, one for the real deal. She will need pre-paid advance reservations--I think, but I don't know for sure--since this is special fair and we'll have to plan seating.

Finally, if you have a particilar part you'd like to do (go look up the details of a Burns Supper), let me know. I'll be making the assignments immediately after the first of the year and printing a little program with agenda for everyone's use.

I think this'll be a real night to remember.
