I think he was talking about the USAF tartan Ron.

That RAF is a sharp sett, I really like the blue in there, it's lighter than what you usually see...a very lively colour. You also have solid reasons for choosing that tartan, aside from "just liking it." It is always nice when you can attach a meaning to a pattern.

You also manage to find great backdrops for photos.

Correction, I would say that is some precise pleat work. if it wasn't for the fact that you can see some of the pleats off to the left hand side, it would look like it was on backwards.

Ron, that is an incredible tartan and you wear it proudly! I especially like the photo essays that you bring to the board. Seeing that scenery makes me home sick for Albuquerque and the surrounding area. I get a wee bit claustrophobic out in these parts with all of the trees.

    Hey Splash 4,

Know what you're talking about. I spent ten years in Dixie during the 60s and 70s (Raleigh, Richmond, Bristol TN/VA, Birmingham, and traveling the lot for my job). I loved the BBQ and history but craved the open spaces.

My solution was to stay up late at night looking for old Western movies on tv that were filmed in Monument Valley and Kanab to drink in the scenery.

Don't know if they'll ever pry my kilted bottom out of here ever again.

Good to hear that I am not the only one! My wife thinks I'm nuts, but then she's from Florida...

How I deal with it is to travel to Albuquerque one or twice a year and take the camera with me. Some of my favorite images are of the Acoma pueblo and sky city. I use them as backgrounds and screen savers to save my sanity. I think most people do not understand the necessity of getting into the middle of nowhere and taking your soul out to look at it.

Now, how to I convince my company that they really need a presence in the mountain time zone???

    Mike
