Well, here's my two cents worth. Oops, being from Canada that should probably be about 2/3rds of a cent with the exchange rate! I have a NightStalker standard and an Irish National standard and even with the exchange and higher shipping cost these kilts kick ***! In fact, in a weak moment last night I ordered a Saffron standard, just in case Christmas morning was a little sparse. If you check the website, Jerry openly admits that the standards are a good step up from the economy but can still be machine washed so a bit of an advantage over the wools. Order away, you won't be disappointed!

I have always owned 13 oz. and 16 oz. 'tanks' in pure wool. I finally broke down and purchased a SWK in the Nightstalker and I was so very pleased with it that I purchased another in Black Stewart, both with fly plaids.

These are both standard so I can't speak for the economy kilts at all. The lighter weight was easy to get used to since they are more comfortable in the warmer weather that we have here in California.

If I can be comfortable in an SWK I think that anyone can.

That said I must add that as far as the 24" length goes it all depends on your body shape. My normal kilt length is 23&1/2" and I am 5'8" tall so the extra 1/2" isn't a problem at all, I just pull it up a bit more and it becomes part of the rise.

Buy that SWK with confidence but be careful of the waist measurements, get it right the first time.

And by the way, Big Mikey...it's more like .89 of a cent as of today...maybe we should arrang a trade: we'll run across the border for prescription drugs and you can run across the border for kilts...it'll be just like to good old days only without Al Capone!

Count me as another who is completely happy with my SWK's. I have a Black-Stewart standard and a Black Watch economy and both are great quality at a great price. You can't go wrong for the price and service that you get at SWK.
