Scott's Porage Oats were around in the UK immediately after WWII, and probably during WWII as well - they might even have been in the shops before the war, but I was too young to have noticed! I would also venture to suggest that their packaging has changed hardly at all since then either - always the brawny kilted shot-putter on the front of the carton. This is almost certainly the best known brand of porage oats over here and that they are exported all over the world hardly surprises me.

Go have a peaty Islay single malt like Lagavulin and you'll know what Scotland tastes like, both figuratively and literally.

I tried desperately to find a box for my son Scott for a gag Christmas gift - but I drew a blank - was a shame.
