Kilt store lists the IPA tartan:

    http://kiltstore.net/tartan/Internat...rchterm=police

I'd just contact them about lead time and availability.

...and this is just one man's opinion but I really do think that those two tartans would totally clash.

Notice that this is a custom weave, and that the cost is for _single width_ tartan. So an 8 yard kilt would require 8 yards, not 4. That's perilously close to $600 just for the tartan.

Livingston - both Matt Newsome and I commonly order custom weaves from DC Dalgliesh in Scotland, and their current price is considerably less than this. You could PM either of us about ordering tartan and having a kilt made from it.

    Cheers,

    Barb

ooooh...didn't see that it was woven to order...yeah, that would be a bit steep...I only consulted the Kiltstore website out of curiousity as a quick reference to see what the deal was and erroneously assumed that it was a stock item and not "custom" work. Sorry if that muddied the waters at all.

No, actually it didn't muddy the waters at all. The KiltStore web site is a great way to find out if a tartan is commercially available or not. If the KiltStore has to get it as a custom weave, then it's very unlikely that it's being woven as commercial stock.

Thank you for the PM and offer to bid in on these kilts but I'm afraid I'm not your kiltmaker for these two. I don't do the kind of work you need here. My needle and thread work is terrible.
Go with one of our traditional kiltmakers and you will not regret the decision.

    I wear the kilt because:
