New Kiltie
Last November some very good friends invited us up to see their son perform in his "band". Since funding had been cut for music in his school system, a couple of musicians started the "Rock School" where kids learn to play instruments, form bands, pick music to play and put it all together. The suprise was that Boone decided to wear a kilt for his stage debut. It turns out that his Mom found a kilt on eBay. It looked like an acrylic of Pakistani orgin in Black Watch. Boone wondered if I had a sporran he could use. I ended up giving him an inexpensive plain black leather day sporran I didn't use much.
Anyway, the performance was great and he loved his new kilt. Since I dabble in kilt making I offered to make him a casual kilt. Since he's 13 I wouldn't need alot of material. I ended up using some left-over denim from the demin kilt I made for myself.
Last week I was honored to deliver the kilt to Boone. This pic is of Boone and me in our denim kilts.
