Oh to be young again. As a twenty years old having been rebuked by my then sweetheart for wasting money on a valentine card when supposed to be saving up for our future I vowed there and then that I would NEVER buy a valentine card for any woman again and I have stuck with that for 35 years. But Ann is incurably romanatic so instead of sending a card I always buy her at least one polyanthus plant (a pack of four this year) at Valentine's Day, which I then plant in the garden and sometimes they flower again year after year, which is more lasting than a card.
