Dread, if it is cancer, the disease can be beaten. I had male breast cancer in '98. In males, it is fatal in a much higher percentage of cases than with women. I'm still around, and as of my last check, still cancer free. The treatments(radiation and chemo )affect everyone differently. She would lose her hair, but it does grow back. I can only speak for chemo, but I had very little nausea from it. On two occasions, I went in for my chemo, drove myself home after treatment and bowled that night in my bowling league. So hang in there. If it is cancer, The two of you can beat it Just be sure you are there to support her throughout the whole thing. You have a lot of people pulling for the two of you. If things do progress to the treatment stage, feel free to PM me about chemo and such. I don't know a lot about the drugs themselves, but I learned some things that helped me get thru it.

Dread,
Concerning Mrs. D, I don't have the words... Be strong for her and know that we're thinking about you both always.
Concerning what you shared with us a few posts ago... You had been dealt a very bad hand my friend and you came out on top. You may not be at the level that you want right now, but the fight that you have in you that got you where you are today will continue to drive you until you are content with your place in life. You may not think it, but you are a success story of the system. You made it out and are leading a normal life. Lynn works with runaway and homeless youth in the state of Michigan, so I see and hear a lot more then most about foster care, boy's schools and the like. Don't you for one minute sell yourself short Dread, you have beaten all the odds that were against you so far, and you will continue to do so.
When/if you are ready to adopt, please contact me first. There are many bad agencies out there and Lynn has access to records that you'd never see. We've done this before for friends and we would be honored to help.
Peace
