    Roadblock kilt finished!

I'll be posting pics later. Total fabric usage is in the neighborhood of fourteen yards, as I went with very deep pleats. Pleat width is ~.75" and depth is ~4.5". There are 45 pleats. (That's over 12 yards in the pleats alone! Oh my goddess what a wool kilt with this kind of excess would cost me!) Closure is Velcro brand hook and loop. An interesting problem arose with this kilt. When I went to attach more material from the other side of the double width bolt, I found out that the pattern at the selvedge didn't match! I was able to fudge it by some creative sewing that's hidden around pleat 30 or so, but I was sure surprised by it. I'll be checking things like that the next time I buy a hunk of clearance PV from Denver Fabrics, that's for sure!

I also had the time to make a sporran cutaway on a vest I picked up at the thrift store. Pictures of that will come later as well

Perhaps I missed it, but pray tell, what is a "Roadblock" Kilt?

    I wear the kilt because:

The wife took a couple of pics this evening. (No, I didn't cut my hair, it's caught under the vest.) Click to view.

Edit to add:Bonus point to the first person who can accurately describe where I ran into the pattern problem! And my description above doesn't count. It's actually pretty easy to spot.
