Colin,
What a charming puppy. Your children must be thrilled.
How about "Monarch" for a name?

OK.OK. Here we go. Couldn't you name a SPRINGER "Boing"? Or knowing you as I do how about "Uisge"? But really, a very cute pup and I'm sure she'll be well loved.

Matriarch, not Monarch.
Unless I am mistaken about the dog being a little girl.

I believe Monarch refers to a sole ruler, gender is not specified.
By the by, Matriarch is a opposite of Patriarch, not Monarch.

so far the kids are split between Piper and Nessie. We pick her up on Saturday and want to see some personallity before settling on a name.

I picked the pup on last Saturday and we have spent the last few days trying to fit into each other's schedules and routines. She is not a big fan of the car rides, but loves coming to work with me. She's a very affectionate and loyal little girl, and she is very smart. No #1 accidents in the house as she is good about going to the door and waiting for a walk. Not bad for a 2 month old pooch.
That's the dog, now where is that blasted kilt I am expecting
By the way, the dog's name is Piper or Pyper (spelling not yet decided)

I think Ailsa would be a lovely name for a young pup like that.
Reminds me of my dog Pip, as seen below. (Collie/Spaniel cross.)
Get yourself ready for some crazy energy...
