My wife and I have been to Grandfather MT games once before and it was the best weve been to. We are hoping to go this year again. I will have my flasks full of Glenfiddich which is the malt of my choice. I haven`t found a single malt that I don`t like yet-but I will keep looking
Do you think it would be a good idea for xmark members to wear something like a piece of red ribbon or something behind their kilt pin, so that we can recognise other members who would like to meet?

works for me. I thought I saw in a post somewhere that there might be a table. Can't remember the clan though.

How 'bout we all plan on red grosgrain ribbon behind the kilt pin.
If you don't usually wear a kilt pin, just use a safety pin for the day. The bigger the better on the ribbon. And at noon Saturday, we'll all meet at some central location. We'll have to get the map layout to choose a good spot.
This is starting to look like a big deal.

It looks like I may be able to go.
Last time I was down there, visiting family, we stayed at the Sleep Inn at Morganton, right next to the Holiday Inn. Owned by the same folks the Sleep Inn was defintely better than average.
I like the idea of some kind of ribbon, a way to recognize each other from a distance.
I know cell service used to be spotty out that way, anyone have idea how it is currently, especially with VZW.

I had VZW and you could maybe get 2 bars on a good day. So like you said spotty.

My fam and I are planning to be there this year...we like to camp but this time we'll probably make a day-trip out of it. I think my son's pipe band will be playing there this year, so I guess I'll have to be there.
If anyone wants to stage in the Asheville area I can recommend some campgrounds, hotels, pubs, etc. We're about 2 hours from GFM.
And a Sunday evening post-games event at Jack of the Wood in Asheville is a definite!

Any particular reason for the Richmond trip? I might be able to get into town around that time if you want to meet somewhere. But since I'm just an old country boy, I don't know a lot about pubs and such in the area.I have tried to find Celtic pubs in Richmond using Google, but not had a lot of luck.

My family and I are booked into a camp ground from Thursday to Monday, so we will be there for the whole games. I hope we meet some xmarkers.
