Edinburgh ("Auld Reekie") Pictures #4
Greyfriars Kirkyard from the Castle Esplanade. Greyfriars is probably most famous for the story of Greyfriars Bobby.

Heriot's School from the same vantage point.

Looking down the Esplanade you can see examples of the World's first "Skyscrapers", multi storey buildings for which Edinburgh's Old Town is famous.

The Camera Obscura. Dumfries can also boast such a facility!
Geoffrey (Tailor)'s tartan weaving mill and exhibition can be seen on the left - well worth a visit.

Looking back up the Lawnmarket in the direction of the Castle.

Where the Lawnmarket becomes the High St part of the Royal Mile at the junction with Bank St and George IV Bridge.

Typical "tourist" shop - sticking as much merchandise out on the street as possible. This time of year Six Nations Rugby shirts can be found at most shops, "tat" or traditional.

Andrew poses with a Heritage of Scotland employee who was outside arranging the off the peg kilts. He was Czech as I remember.

Glad you liked them Iain - knocks the spots off Manchester doesn't it?
