Planning an Interesting St Pats Night

I have been invited to a German-American Social Club Saturday night for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration (ie: food and beer) and will be attending in my kilt. Talk about a mixed heritage evening - German, American, Irish and Scottish!

I am sure that I'll have an interesting time and hope to post some pics and comments.

I'm going to an Irish festival at an Indian casino.

They've got some good, free entertainment lined up and, supposedly, a nice selection of vendors and food. The main reason we're going is because the Irish Rovers are playing in the showroom. That part is not free, but I've always wanted to see them.

I love it when different cultures come together!

Our Scottish society was invited to the Midsommar (Midsummer) festival that our local Scandinavian Society holds; all of those Swedes, Danes, Norwegians, Finns, etc. loved our piper!

Of course, Scotland has many ties to those countries, historically and culturally.

Sounds cool. I'm going for buffalo wings at a local sports bar, then off to play pool somewhere. (kilted of course. )

Be careful Brian! You know what they say about eating German food, two or three weeks later you'll just be hungry again.*

    Have a great time!

I'll be in the St. Paddy's parade in Conyers myself. It's all of 1 1/2 blacks long, and they pack literally hundreds of fulks onto the street. You wouldn't believe how many actually turn out for the shortest parade in the world.

It's lots of fun--kids, dogs, everyone who shows up is in the parade, and it's advertised as the "fastest growing."

As a German-Irish-Scottish-English hybrid myself, I can agree with everything stated above.

And BTW, if anyone wants a good parace ending with plenty of music and availble beer (and other libations), come on down.

St. Patrick's night I amnot sure where I will be. Anscestors were English/Presbyterian Scot-Irish - you know - Orangemen. However, I will be at local Irish pub for an Irish breakfast - they said something about my Campbell kilt and me not being man enough to wear it in on St Patrick's Day.

My heritage is German, Irish, Scottish, and Native American. This will be my first kilted Paddy's day. Should be a good time.

My last gig of the evening's 9:00, and I have to get up at 5:00 for a sunrise one on the far side of the next county.
