Well next time someone assks that question tell them that the best haggis comes from the wee butcher shop next to the locks (not lochs) in Fort Augustus.
And I'm so very glad that I can say that from personal experience. I can't wait to go back!

Funny, when one wears a kilt you're assumed to be an expert on all things Scottish. But, it's also a great way to start a conversation and tell folks about the St. Andrew's Society, etc. I often go to events wearing a kilt to advertise the Spokane Highland Games or an upcoming event and hand out information. I figure I like to wear a kilt and use it to advertise. Two birds with one stone.

My wife's a long time vegetarian ( I try not to hold it against her) and swears by Mc Sweens vegetarian haggis, albeit washed down with some Glenmorangie.

I'm sorry but I don't find joking about that even remotely funny. Problems with Haggis do not derive from the product but with the handling and packaging when care is not taken. The same problem can affect other meat products that are vacuum packed as well if the proper procedures are not followed.
