Panache has given good advice, here. The full PC sounds like WAY too much for the occasion. Ditch the vest, use your buttons on the jacket and wear a nice, wide dress belt. Have him wear a regular white dress shirt and a regular necktie in either black or a solid tie in a color from his kilt, instead of a bowtie.
Get more buttons (smaller ones) and finish the vest before the lad gets married.

Thank you both for your suggestions. This does give me some leeway since the full regalia needs to be ready on Pascha (Easter) and I can get the other buttons before then.
I suspect, having seen himself in the mirror, that D'Argo is very likely to want the whole kit and kaboodle as soon as possible. He's very handsome all dressed up, but I'm his mom, I'm supposed to be biased.
