I assume this is for the Scottish Rite Dinner? I can see if I can get you an Argylle or perhaps a Craill jacket from the tartan shop where I got mine, I have one for Grant, let me know what size you are and I will see if they have anything suitable on consignment, the Argylle I have is a Harris Tweed and cost me $40.00.

About the most laid back jacket and vest that I've seen is a Wallace Jacket. I still have one on my personal list. Minimal onamentation...more like a plain blazer than the others. Not sure if it's considered and "offcial" style of jacket or if it's just something that the company that sells it cooked up but plain is beautiful hereabouts.

The Crail (at the Kilt Store) looks about right, (The one without the shiny buttons) but the Kilt store wants over $400 smackers for one. I take a 46 or 48 McMurdo, but I wasn't thinking of the Scottish Rite dinner. Forty bucks for a rental is reasonable, but I would rather purchase one and get a few years out of it.
Thanks for the link Mr. Newsome. I'll take a closer look at that.

    Cheers,
    Rick
