That being said, if you are trying to save money, here is a grand solution:
This is a military mess jacket that was simple to convert into a dress kilt jacket.
The only things I had to do were take off the stripes on the sleeve, change/add the buttons, and if you are so inclined make/braid the epaulets. With this jacket you don't have to wear a vest and can wear a belt!
Total cost = $40

Yes...but I found mine for $6 at the local thrift store
