I agree... There IS going to be an evolution of the kilt and we're just happy to be a part of it! If the TV station is going to run a story on the "Evolution" of the kilt, they shouldn't just stick to Scotland, as that's not the only place it's evolving! I honestly don't know the answer to this, but I'll ask the question...
How many companies are popping up in Scotland who are making kilts with a "twist" of some sort vs. other areas of the globe (i.e. USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Wales, England, Ireland, etc...)? I think a wider exploration of the evolution is merrited (sp?) to discover the far reaching effects of the Scottish garment.
