    Many of the Scottish Country Dancers forgo wearing a belt.

    A well fitted kilt (like the ones you have made for yourelf) don't need one.

    That said, I rather like the look of a wide kilt belt.

    I asked a similar question a while back. If the wide belt and waist plate isn't your thing then go ahead wear a normal belt. I think a kilt needs some adornment - sporran & belt, apart from that follow your gut.
