I use a tea tree and citronella based spray I found at the health food store. I need to get another bottle. Whatever it was, it WORKED. Skeeters, like most other bugs, don't seem to like tea tree. I slather the dog down in tea tree oil too. She's never ever had fleas or tics.

what store did you get that stuff at? I'll be heading to the wilds of the Appalaccian Mountains in June, and the bugs are horrific up there.

Creative Health, located in beautiful down town Greenville SC. I can't remember what it was called, but it was basically just some essential oils in an oil based carrier spray.

Tea tree in it was very, very strong though. Some people don't like the smell. I love it personally. I use a tea tree shampoo by Dr. Bronners. Washing with that stuff also helps keep the bugs away. Lice, and other human biters.

Pure peppermint oil is also good too... I use peppermint shampoo from Dr. Bronner's as well. Bugs don't seem to like the overpowering smell of peppermint. That, and after a nice shower, your skin feels all cool and tingly for hours.

considering that I'll be in the company of 105 7th graders, smell is the least of my concerns. Imagine hiking with 105 pigpen's from the Peanuts.
