An Undefined Jones
I have no time to make kilts. I owe four, count 'em four skirts to lasses this friday and I'm gonna only have three of them done. That's three skirts in two months.
OK, well the fourth one is "cut out", but sheesh. I haven't made a KILT in three months. I owe Panache a kilt. I have seven yards of Grey Stewart wool sitting in my study.
I want another kilt.
I don't NEED another kilt. I have ENOUGH kilts. But I want another kilt. But I don't want any of the normal offerings....Hunting Stewart, Royal Stewart, Black Watch....nah. I don't know what I want. I don't need another Macnaughton kilt. Maybe I want a contemporary kilt.....
I'm not sure, I just know that I want another kilt because...uh...uh....
When I started all this, I was going to only buy ONE kilt.
Do you ever feel this way?

More or less, yeah.
I own.. 1... count it, 1 kilt total and it's a royal stewart tank. I wish I could afford to get another good kilt but I'm one of those caviar tastes on a tunafish budget people. The thought of something acrylic or what not totally turns me off. So for the forseeable future it's all watching you people with great envy.
So yeah, count your blessings!

Alan,
It's not the having, it's the wanting.
It's not the having, it's the planning.
It's not the having, it's the making.
It's not the having, it's the magical moment of completion.
It's not the having, it's the sharing of your accomplishment with friends and family.
After that, all that is left is the having.
And that is not enough.
This is why we who make always want to make more.
Cheers
Jamie

I want a bunch more! My partner recently asked me what I wanted next and she was rather shocked at how long said list was.

I too think I have enough Kilts, but the inner voice keeps telling me more.
Admit it we are stuck in the vortex of loving Kilts!

Echoing all above sentiments. My only fear is that I will have 20+/- kilts one day and suddenly decide that pants are really pretty comfy after all.
I'm 52. I just keep telling people who ask why I kilt, that it's cheaper than a fancy sports car.

I drive Panache crazy, because when he asks what I want for my birthday/Christmas/Anniversary/etc. I never have a ready answer. When I ask him what he wants, he hands me a list with convenient web addresses attached !
I enjoy making things, and I am always "Jonesing" for the next project (and the time to do said project), so I guess that my "Jones" is just spare time! X-Marks cheerleader skirt/kilt coming up eventually...
Be well,

It is difficult to know when you have enough kilts, maybe you will never have enough kilts, or maybe one kilt will satisfied you. I am waiting for my six'th kilt to arrived, Glencairn Tartan. Still not sure I have enough Kilts.
This is the tartan below

I'm halfway tempted to show Alan what I picked up on E-bay(or X-Bay to us rabble), hint: it's wool, it's dark, it's not trad or usual ...
(Steve did such an awesome job on my X-Marker that I may take it up to see what he thinks. I might scr ... mess it up but I trust his skills) ...
But yes, I too understand. I have more than enough of many things but there's always one more thing. I have a workbench with ten projects going on it all at once (and no, it doesn't work very well) and still, still I have the insane desire to start others. And while that's gone on, I haven't gotten the straps on my e-kilt done but have the materials for those cool ones like Tartan Hiker made, nor have I finished the flashes.
Taxes, time, and all that other "living" stuff sure takes up a lot doesn't it ?
CT - oh yeah, 14 more kilt projects on the brain

I know that feeling. Right now my count is six - one MacRae weathered hunting tank, one Sportkilt Black Stewart, one SWK Nightstalker two X-Marks and one knife pleated that I made. But I keep going to the Marton Mills website and lust over their County Antrim. It the only one I have seen that has an orange/red as the predominant color, all the others seem to have a muted green. My father's family came from there so I think this will be my second tank.
