Actually, about half way through the wait, I called Rocky and discussed changing my order to to a eight yard semi-trad PV kilt because I had the same reservations about the swing, and pleat depth. Although Rocky was fine with switching the order, we discussed the way the kilt was going to be made and the properties of the 16 oz wool. We specifically discussed the 'hang' and 'swing' of the kilt and he assured me that I would be impressed.

When I tried on the kilt last night I immediately noticed the significant difference in the hang and the swing compared to my SWK and USAK PV. My wife LOVED the way the kilt hung, and the sway of the pleats walking down the hall - even I could feel then swaying and brushing against the back of my leg.

I can say that I was looking at another PV in the MacBeth Tartan, but I am firmly convinced that I should spend the extra bucks and get another 5 Yard wool kilt in the near future - perhaps the Granite Tartan. Being the Crack dealer that Rocky is, he went and pulled that out the last time I was there and I have been thinking about it ever since.

Bottom line (IMHO) - GO FOR IT!

I will be posting pics of me wearing it soon enough! Stay tuned.

It is impressive - When I took these pics I had just taken it out of the box and it still had some wrinkles - after hanging all night it looked even better this morning.

Brian, my friend, we should all be so lucky.

I wonder how this would look pleated to the blue line. Anyone smart enough with the software to simulate it?

thanks for the kind words, P1M.

Here's what the German American would look like to the blue stripe section...
Sorry for the poor photoshop job. I couldn't get "just the blue" section, but you get the idea:

    Rocky,
Sorry for the late response - Army stuff going on and I forgot about this thread. The pic didn't show up - at least on my end.
