I have kilts with and without belt loops, and I prefer kilts without.

I too prefer kilts without the loops.

Besides... if you're dancing, the loops make it harder to swing the sporran to your left so you can actually hold your partner without, er, bumping into things...

For most people, this isn't something they need to worry about. If you're worried about the sporran slipping down, though, hook the sporran straps over the tops of the buckles before you put the belt on. No need for loops.

but doesn't your Sporran add to the bump & grind?
