it's not awful, it's just different than what you all are used to. It's definately not a trad kilt. Just look at it, the model is rockin' the heavy boots, there's funky snaps on one side. It's meant for the Hottopic punk rock crowd.
I really really wish folks wouldn't say things were awful just because they're different. Instead say something constructive like:
"it's a bit too long" or
"because of the length it appears more feminine than the kilts I'm used too" or
"the sporran is attached oddly"

Yeah, I would have to agree with everyone on this thread. What you are wearing is more of a skirt, not a kilt. A kilt is worn around the belly button area and the kilt doesn't hang below the knee ( top to middle of knee). Maybe you should look into buying the book " So you're going to wear the kilt". It may clear up any confusions you may have about how to wear it.
Best of luck to you

LOL ... I told you! It's like the big shiny red button with the sign that says "DON'T PUSH!" It's the primordial monkey-gene in all of us. Ya just gotta push the button.
Well, speaking of primordial monkey behavior, if I need a kilt for the bedroom I can do better than that €70 nonsense.

What you say is true of traditional kilts, worn in conformance with the fashion rules of the Victorian era. That does not mean that is the only way to wear a kilt, or the only form of kilt nowadays. Many modern and casual kilts ride on the hip, such as Utilikilts, and the USA Kilt casual model.

Richard D. asked us to "check this out and say what do you think." That's what I did.

I do believe saying it's 'awful' is a valid answer to the question as he posed it. It may not be an overly polite way of expressing it but that's another issue entirely. I, for one, would appreciate these opinions and take them as that, one person's view. If you think it's awful, go ahead and say so. There is no need to apologize for that or qualify it.

I agree with Cloves. Its more helpful to give a reasoned opinion, that just trashing a product. In this case the kilt is obviously unconventional. I personally think the styling is interesting, but a little too long for my tastes.
