Save the 75 euros and buy a real kilt. If you like that kid of thing ask someone if they could make you one. I'm sure someone on the list could make you one for alot cheaper than that!

Calling this kilt awfull is no different than what
the hard core traditionalists called utilikilts a short
while back. I'll agree that the presentation is poor,
but if it showed a regular guy acting like a regular
guy while wearing this kilt, it may actually look OK.
It would be a bit better with a larger tartan sett, and
darker colors. The waistband draws too much
attention. The length is reasonable, maybe a bit
long, but I'd rather see one too long than too short.
(and I consider to the top of the knee almost too
short on some men, and way too short on others.)
It does look like it is being worn too low, as well.
The shape looks like it was derived from a womens
skirt, and gives the wearer a feminine look. I can't
see how it is closed, maybe elastic. If it is, this may
contribute to this appearance. Worn as part of a
normal outfit, this may not be so prominent, since
shirts aren't usually so form fitting.
The sporran looks dangerous.
If this kilt is being marketed now, I wonder
what kind of research the manufacturer did.
Either they are trying to set a new direction
in fashion, or are doing a poor job of jumping
on the bandwagon.

While Kelly and I both agree it looks too girly (b/c the waistband on the bias), she does like it and wants to know where you saw it!

Rocky,
It's easy to track where an image came from by looking at the image's URL. The image posted came from the site I'll link below, but be advised this site is NOT safe for work and just reinforces my opinion that the damn thing is, as someone else put it, "awful" (whether it's politically correct to actually express a solicited opinion or not).
I'll put it to you this way, the garment was not intended to be worn outside the bedroom. OK? Plain enough?
Fair warning given. One last chance to NOT click the link below. If you do, get the kiddies away from the computer.

Yeah, I would have to agree with everyone on this thread. What you are wearing is more of a skirt, not a kilt. A kilt is worn around the belly button area and the kilt doesn't hang below the knee ( top to middle of knee). Maybe you should look into buying the book " So you're going to wear the kilt". It may clear up any confusions you may have about how to wear it.
Best of luck to you

Scott - I went to the site as well. The site says it all!! I for one will continue to stick with 'mainstream' kilts.

LOL ... I told you! It's like the big shiny red button with the sign that says "DON'T PUSH!" It's the primordial monkey-gene in all of us. Ya just gotta push the button.
Well, speaking of primordial monkey behavior, if I need a kilt for the bedroom I can do better than that €70 nonsense.

What you say is true of traditional kilts, worn in conformance with the fashion rules of the Victorian era. That does not mean that is the only way to wear a kilt, or the only form of kilt nowadays. Many modern and casual kilts ride on the hip, such as Utilikilts, and the USA Kilt casual model.

Jake
