Barathea Wool
Reading a thread about Pakistani goods got me wondering (AGAIN) what is "Barathea Wool?" I've bought high end mens clothing all of my life, and I don't ever remember hearing this term until I started shopping for a jacket to go with a kilt. I bought a black argyll jacket from northofstandrews.com and it looks about like every other formal jacket I've seen guys wearing with their kilts. It's a very heavy weight, with a texture similar to what I call hopsack. I don't like it that much, but for the price and the infrequency that I will wear it, it's satisfactory. Northofstandrews markets it as being made in Scotland, but I have my doubts. I had to have the lining restitched because it was not hanging properly on the vent, but that only cost $5.00 and now it fits and hangs fine.
No criticism of Northofstandrews by the way. They were very prompt on shipping. My brother in law bougt one from them too. He ordered one too small, and they changed it out with no problem. I think I have bought something else from them since. Thay have very competitive pricing.

I bought one of the clearance priced Crail jackets, and for the money I spent I am well pleased. I may at some point in the future buy one made to measure, but for now the one I got from them is just fine.
