Greetings all, and though I come to this thread a day late, let me add my best wishes, honor and respect to those who served in that terrible place, and those who serve around the world now.
As a songwriter I'll add that the song "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" was written by Scottish-Australian songwriter Eric Bogle. Credit where credit is due. (He also has another brilliant WWI-related song called Green Fields of France (No Man's Land) which is well worth a listen.
